What made you decide to change to a career in K-12 teaching?
I did not have the best experience in my high school physics class and initially had a hard time in Physics classes at GT. I want to give students the best opportunity to be successful at the college level if they want to pursue a career in engineering or science.
What attracted you to Kennesaw State University’s MAT program?
I liked how supportive KSU is for students in the MAT program and appreciate all that they do to prepare future teachers for the class room.
What do you hope to learn by being a Noyce Teaching Fellow?
I hope to learn the newest and best ideas out there to not only give my students the most knowledge but make it rewarding at the same time. Hopefully this will foster a love for science and prepare them for further education.
What challenges do you think exist in high needs schools that differ from non-high needs schools?
I think there is a lack of focus on subjects like physics because these schools are trying to do the best they can to deliver the basics to their students.
